ParaPlan Desktop updates silently in the background using ClickOnce. This means that the majority of the time, ParaPlan is running the most current version.
ClickOnce works by checking for updates at a given interval. Currently, this is every five minutes. If an update is found, it is downloaded from our servers and installed on the computer. During and after an update, the user can continue to use ParaPlan as normal. The next time ParaPlan is opened, the user will be running the newest version.
To force an update, do the following steps:
- Close and restart ParaPlan.
- Check the About screen for the version number and date. If the version number has been incremented, then the update is complete.
If the update is not yet installed, repeat steps 1 and 2.
If the latest version is not installed after restarting twice, then contact EnGraph. Either an update is not yet available, there is a server side issue with the update, or in very rare cases, the update is being cached by a server on the client's network.
